Dubbed as People Asia’s National Sweetheart, Anne
Curtis-Smith certainly earned a lot of hearts through her funny and cute
personality.
Born of
parents James Curtis-Smith (a lawyer) and Carmencita Ojales, Anne is of
Filipino- Australian descent. She was born on February 17, 1985 and is the
eldest among 5 children. Being half-Filipino, half- Australian she would often
visit the Philippines when she was younger. Originally, Anne didn’t have any
plans to enter the show business, but when she was 12 years old, she was
scouted by a Talent manager. At first, she only entered beauty pageants
(without her father’s consent), but later on was offered small roles in
television shows. I guess her beauty
refused to be hidden after all.
Now,
you can see her face in almost every billboard and magazine in the Philippines.
She was the first ever Filipino celebrity to reach one million followers in the
popular social website, Twitter. She has starred in countless blockbuster films
and primetime television series. Among her famous works were Hiram (2005),
Kampanerang Kuba (2005), Maging Sino Ka Man, Baler, Dyosa (2008). Her film, No
Other Woman, which also starred Derek Ramsay and Christine Reyes, grossed Php
100 million in just 5 days.
Anne
Curtis, throughout her career, has already received a Metro Manila Film
Festival Award, 3 FAMAS Award (winning one), 2 Luna Awards nominations (winning
one) and six PMPC Star Award for TV nominations (winning two). Aside from that
she is a constant candidate for hottest women in the Philippines. Anne is also one of the well-loved fashion
icons of the Philippines. Recently she has received the award for most
influential celebrity endorser of the year in the 3rd Edukcircle
Awards and was nominated for favourite Asian Act for the 27th
Nickolodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Catch her on: It’s Showtime (Mon-Sat), Dyesebel (Mon-Fri)
and also her first international film, Blood Ransom (date to be announced).
Single?: Nope! She’s dating cutie Erwann Heussaff.
